I’m not a huge fan of Halloween. Maybe its the black and orange color combinations, or all of the creepy critters that are associated with the day. This year, I wanted to bring a little chic to the day by going glam with our pumpkins.  Of course I turned to Pinterest and began to search for inspiration and ideas and here are a few of my favorites.

Large and bold graphics have been making their way into fabrics for quite sometime.  Lately I have seen bold graphics take a new turn and we are seeing more digital images and lifelike prints that wow. Enter Edit Australia…their collection of digital prints are bright, colorful and beyond unique. My favorite pattern has to be Jewels, I feel like I am taking a look into my Grandmother’s jewelry box!  By the yard for draperies & upholstery or on a cushion, this print has stolen my heart.  Finding the perfect project for this jewel shouldn’t be too hard!

Did you know that Minted now has a huge collection of Home Decor including fabric, pillows and draperies? I love that they have now expanded their independent artist prints into the home collection too, it give you the opportunity to find pieces that are unique and have a story to them.

Of course I found a print that I loved and since Fall is here, I thought it was the perfect time to change out our duvet cover for the season. I wanted something bold in pattern, but I wanted to color palette to work with the soft blues and greens in the room.  I fell in love with Painterly Splash from Alethea and Ruth’s Store  because of the soft watercolor pattern and deep teal accents. I love the way it helps our master bedroom feel a bit more fun and colorful too.

Details make all the difference when pull a space together, don’t cha think? Even though I am a big fan of bold color, pattern and funky textures I still think keeping some of your details around a space crisp and minimal  create the perfect combination. Draperies are the best way to add a bit of detail to your space. I like to keep my drapery panels sleek and simple when going over the top in a space.  But sometimes you just have to bring a bit of detail to something simple to make it perfect!

A great rug can tie a room together and lends itself to so many wonderful design elements for a room. It can establish a color palette, be the wow factor in the room or just tie a large open floorplan together.

This flatweave Dhurie from The Rug Company worked perfectly in our client’s open family space. We used the same rug in the living area and small dining space to create a cohesive feel. The warm grey rugs have a simple tribal pattern that give the room a bit of interest without taking over and looks soothing with the overall tonal grey color palette.

The view from below in this master bedroom makes me happy. I think wallpaper on the ceiling is always a good idea!!! If you are looking to mix it up a bit and try something “off the wall” , adding wallpaper to your ceiling will make your four walls come to life. Balance a busy pattern out with a rug that compliments the pattern and color. Or, go with a tonal pattern that will allow for a more sophisticated and tailored feel.

One of my fur babies is having ALC surgery today. She hasn’t been able to walk on her back right leg for a while now, so it is time to pull the trigger and get this sweet girl back on all four of her precious furry feet. As I was driving away from the surgical center today, I received this awesome text from one of my besties…

Don’t judge. And, yes this would be awesome if I could check in on my sweet Ivy Banks to make sure she is doing ok. Like I always say or hashtag #nokidsjustdogs. For the next 10-12 weeks, we will be connected at the hip pretty much. She will not be able to run, jump or play WWF with her sister until her bone heals from the plate and six screws.
