The King's Speech {Set Interiors}
Since is was so gloomy and rainy in Dallas this weekend, I took the time to see a few of the movies on my must see list! True Grit was the first one on the list and after grabbing a much needed Chic-fil-a lunch, my hubby and I were off to the movies. The King’s Speech was also on my list but I saw that one with my mother, I couldn’t talk my hubby into that one.
I was in love with the set design. The interiors were spectacular and the amazing metallic and deco style wallpapers were so eye catching. I wish I were able to find images of them all but here are a few of my favorites.
Here is King George VI in Buckingham Palace during the late 1930’s….I’m swooning over that wallpaper!
The sofa in this particular set was gorgeous, the gold frame was a nice contract against the distressed walls. See more on the details and design direction on the “therapy room” HERE.
During the long awaited speech scene, the room was draped with a busy patterned fabric. It was a perfect match for the intense environment in the scene.
The gold mouldings in this scene were full of detail and captured 1930’s London perfectly.
Westminister Abby.
More scenes with the detailed wallpaper.
