Going Vertical

A few months ago we ordered the custom cow hide wallcovering for my client’s master bedroom and I have to share it!  He loved the look of the hide and the idea of bringing a serious wow factor to the room!  When I started working with Edelman Leather on this custom piece I knew exactly what I wanted and their design process was beyond easy.

Their “be inspired” was the starting point for the design. I was able to select each hide and even determine the exact location of each color.  I also spent quite a bit of time designing other pieces…this tool is fabulous!

Here was the first design that I came up with on their site. I used their red, chocolate, ivory, black and a camel hide for the overall color palette.  After the factory took a better look at the direction and % of each color that I wanted to use, they came up with the final design.  The suggested a few changes with the color locations based on the manufacturing process and hide availability.

Now we have a completed custom size cow hide “rug” that is ready for a wallcovering installation. The piece will be installed in a few weeks and I promise to share pictures of how things go!
