Getting It Just Right
I received a few images from one of my latest photo shoots with Melanie Johnson. Before I show off all of the GORGEOUS final images, I wanted to share some of the “getting it just right” images. This space is lavender fabulous and my client, wanted her clients to feel as if they were in a spa like environment and could completely relax. Located in Uptown Dallas and owned by Lashionista, Claria Nieves. LashMaxx is one the most innovative lash studios and training companies in the beauty industry!
The treatment room has a gas fireplace that helps to create an inviting feel in the room. We needed to take the basic design of the fireplace and make it a focal point for the room. Here is a BEFORE pic of the fireplace.
AFTER: This fireplace is now the focal point. This Seabrook Painters Guild / Jazz wallcovering was perfect and the large pattern brings a much needed graphic pattern to the simple space.
Now for the fun stuff! I love showing you all the styling process I go through on my photo shoots with Melanie. Pillows and fireplace mantels are always pieces of the shoots that look good multiple ways. A few months ago, I shared my multiple pillow configurations on a shoot…you can see more of that HERE.
We started simple…
Tried adding a pop of color, but I wasn’t feeling the vase on the right. I love the candy jars so I think I will try something else on the right side.
Ok, I really like the softness of the tulips but things still look a little blah.
I think this is the one. The pink tulips bring in the pop of color I was after and they compliment the candy jars too. We finished it off with a classic white garden stool and added the white tulips to the inside of the fireplace. What do you think looks best? Next week I’ll post the final project images on the blog so stay tuned.

Okay…first of all, that wallpaper is gorgeous. I really like the large-scale pattern. The flowers were a real toss up for me. I thin it would depend on my mood. The white tulips look so soft and peaceful. The pink is spunky. I think either choice looks great. And the candy jars are a great touch. The whole room looks amazing. You did a great job!!
(By the way, I really like your new blog design.) 🙂

Hi Carol,
Thank you for the comment and that fireplace needed a bit of help. I’m so happy the wall covering was a go by the owner, it made the space!
