Short Stack
The use of our fireplace on a cold day is a regular occurrence around our house! When the Texas chill wears me down on a long day, starting a fire becomes the first think I want to do when arriving at home.
Our fireplace wall was recently remodeled and I did consider built-in units just so I could stack firewood in them…but we just don’t have the depth to do that. My solution, thickly braided Bailey Baskets from Pottery Barn. The firewood fits inside the baskets perfectly and the fact that I’m not running out into the freezing cold back yard to grab pieces is wonderful.
Here are a few of my favorite stacks of firewood from my inspiration file. There is something so natural about the look of stacked firewood and the earthy architectural feel always catches my eye!

I’m loving the simple basket by the fireplace and of course the huge driftwood lamp!

Abbe,
I really love this post….I think the firewood stacked as a wall is very cool and definitely gives “texture” to a room!
My fave vignette is Home Interior Zone.
Love these!! I have fond memories of my family’s fireplace at home during the winter months. I love the vertical stacked fireplaces and the 3rd to last image…so cool!
