    Hanging By a Rope

I am working with a client that has such an amazing home! Most of the major pieces are in place but we are on a mission to get the house pulled together by updating the accessories and bring in a few fabulous details.

The kitchen is open to the main living room and there are super tall vaulted ceilings that open up over both space. Since we are adding a fabulous new kitchen island and updating the countertops…we needed a large scale chandelier to hang over the new island. After a few trips to the new Timothy Oulton store here in Dallas, we have pulled the trigger on one of their metal orb fixtures that just happens to have a sparkly chandelier hanging inside of it!!!

Here is is in all of it’s glamourous glory!!!  The industrial feel mixed with the glitzy sparkle of the chandelier is the perfect combination for my client’s home!

And a little touch that will tie in the industrial/glam feel is using rope to “hang” the chandelier.  Here are a few shots of what we are thinking about doing with the rope!

Such a fabulous touch to any fixture! Here are a few other pieces using rope that I LOVE!  I’m thinking I may need to look around my house to see where I can bring a little rope in!

    Since You Asked

After yesterday’s “spotting greyhounds” post, I received a few questions on where one may be able to find a greyhound sculpture of their own.  I pulled together a few of my favorites for you today!

    Spotting Greyhounds

I love spotting a sculptural greyhound in interiors. They are so regal, sleek and bring an extra bit of chic each space they grace!  I also love that they have popped up on the back of David Komas latest wedges!!!  Seen below in black with gold greyhounds and an all white version, these wedges are super cool! Not sure I could pull them off, but adding one to my living room may be a better option for me.

    Weekend Window {Zig Zag}

We are a sucker for a great graphic pattern and the zig zag happens to be one of our favorites. They can be subtle in soft tones or bold in color and we love our zigs and zags in all sizes…we don’t discriminate!  They mix perfectly with florals, stripes and of course you can’t go wrong with a complimenting solid either.  Zig zags have become a staple in our world of pillows and we do our best to stock The Shop with pieces that you can easily incorporate into your interiors.  I think the fabric covered wastebaskets are our favorite right now, who could resist a classy place for your trash?

Enjoy the weekend and don’t forget to “like” us on Facebook or “tweet” us on Twitter where we are sharing sneak peaks of the new look! The Shop is undergoing a major overhaul and we are preparing for the AUGUST 1st launch, we can’t wait for you to see it!

    The New Tassel

Not only have I been busy getting Shop Ten 25 ready to move over to a new design format, but I have also been working on The Design Studio! It’s a challenge to give myself a fabulous space to work in these days, I have been so busy showing love to all of my other projects that The Studio has just fallen to the side.   Although I LOVEED the pops of pink and overall girly look, it was time to take things up a few notches and really go glam! Here is what the old space looked like….

After months of planning and ordering and waiting things kept taking a backseat and I was getting bummed about the entire project. But, today was the first time that I have been really excited about the updates to the new office!  I had a custom desk built into the old closet, painted, picked up a new conference table and chairs and am happy to see the long awaited backorderd pieces show up! And today was the big day.  I have had a serious obsession and major crush on Arteriors Home’s new Tassel Lamps since they hit the market and I finally have a set of my own!  Navy and black tassels, a stunning black shade with gold lining and and the perfect addition to The Studio!

Here is a sneak peek at the progress!! I hope to have this Design Studio 100% and up an running as soon as the finishing touches show up! Of course I will share…

    Loving Arabesque

After yesterday’s post on a recent Home Away From Home project update, I received quite a few questions about the creme and grey Arabesque rug in the photos.  Most of you wanted to know about the quality of the rug. The quality is top notch, soft texture and simplistic details within the pattern too.  And of course you wanted to know how to get your hands on this gorgeous piece! Well,  we carry it as well as it’s fabulous coral counterpart at Shop Ten 25.

I have used the Coral Arabesque rug in a Studio Ten 25 home office project and it was stunning! Here are a few of my favorite Coral Arabesque installations…

The grey and creme version is the latest addition to the collection and it’s tone one tone grey graphic is classic, chic and works well in so many types of rooms…I’m so happy that my client decided to wait for this beauty to come in from it’s crazy long backorder!

    The Willow Lamp

While on our mini-vacay in San Francisco last week I spotted a GORGEOUS chandelier while shopping at the Fresh store. I had to ask where it came from and of course take a few pictures!  I can’t believe the fabulous people in the store pulled out the “design binder” and made copies of the spec sheet for me! Um, YES please!!  So today, I wanted to share my latest find, obsession and love of gorgeous lighting!

Here are a few more details of the “flower of life” pieces that was in the store…

Not only does this stunner come in the everyday standard ball chain with the stainless steel laser cut “flowers”,  it also comes in red!!  The series can be found on Amaridian’s website and let me warn you…this site is super addicting. Full of gorgeous sculptures, woven pieces and of course the Willowlamp collection!!  Here are a few of my favorite pieces from the collection, to see more take a look at the Willowlamp Site. I love the variation of colors sizes too…I’m officially obsessed.

    For The Love Of Graphic

It’s no secret that I am a fan of graphic patterns. I tend to gravitate towards the more simple and classic and of course any pattern with added color always catches my eye.  I have been working on quite a few kitchen and bathroom remodels in The Studio and love that my clients are ready to be bold!  I see so many simple graphics and neutral colors being used for backslashes, floors and walls and I do love them.  Keeping it simple can help you to sell your home faster, but I’m over that way of thinking after seeing these gorgeous rooms. Your home should be your haven and if a bold colorful graphic on your backsplash makes your kitchen over the top amazing or your bathroom a stunning piece of art, I say go for it!

    Where The Green Grass Grows

Last summer the Texas heat was so obnoxious and overwhelming that we are having to replant the entire east side of our yard this year. I thought it would be no big deal to have the new sod put in but wow, it makes a HUGE difference and I love the way the new grass looks so fresh, bright green and it’s super soft!

Our backyard is a different story, with two bird dogs running around the grass takes a beating. So much of a beating, that we have considered having turf put in.   Once we began to investigate the cost and options out on the market today we were surprised to see what people do with turf and faux grass around the house too.  Grassland has to be one of my favorite finds! They use dried grass panels to make anything from grass walls to grass letters for logos and FABULOUS lighting.

Here are a few of my favorite faux grass look!  It’s amazing what people come up with, I think the grass like rugs are the most functional. I love the way they bring in a crisp modern look.  We used them on a client’s patio project and they brought in much needed texture and color while keeping the modern look….anyone else feel a sneeze coming on?
