Workin’ It
Home offices have become a major part of the way we live these days, and they are always on the “to-do” list of our clients. We love designing home offices for our clients, its a great way to create a look and feel that is an extension of the home. Home offices can be a challenge, because they always require we thought out storage and function solutions.
This home office was designed for one of our bachelors. He needed a place that was easy to work in and he didn’t want dark & heavy pieces, so that was a challenge when it came to concealing clutter. We used pieces from Room & Board to create an L-shaped table desk. I love the crisp white marble tops and modern metal legs. We added storage units on wheels that will make it easy for him to access files and office supplies. A sleek bookshelf brings in a bit of warmth and style, while adding a bit of storage for printer paper and pieces that he may need access to on a regular basis. Here is the overall look that we presented to him.
BEFORE: This room was just used as a bit of a catch all room. Nothing fancy, but loads of potential and we were ready to make the best off the soaring windows, natural light and fabulous Dallas views! The perfect blank slate if you ask me!
AFTER: A modern & masculine home office that gives our client plenty of room to spread out and place to store the clutter that can take over an office. And, now he can leave the office door open without being ashamed of what visitors will see as they walk by the room! I LOVE the art from Natural Curiosities, the book collection is the perfect way to add a bit of color, simplicity and an office feel. Thank you Melanie Johnson for the fabulous images!
