The 180
I have been crazy busy the past few days so I apologize for leaving the blog so quiet. Yesterday I began to install one of my latest projects and its just too good not to share today! My client is seriously a super mom. She has three adorable boys, works and is in full remodel mode with me as we transform their home. It was time for an update that matched their lifestyle and that meant an adult space with kid friendly fabrics that everyone could enjoy. You can see more details on the design plan HERE.
Here are the before and during shots! I can’t wait to show off more spaces in the home, not all of the pieces are in but over the next few weeks we will be putting the final touches on every room! Enjoy and have a great Friday the 13th…it’s my lucky day… seriously! I refuse to let a little superstition ruin my day!
Here is a look at the overall plan for the room.
Before: The red accent wall was the first major change in the living room. The large furniture was not the right scale for the room and we have big plans for the back of the bookshelves (more on those later).
Now: A fresh new wall color, rug and a custom chaise and sofa in a Robert Allen Teflon coated fabric (perfect for the kiddos) fit the scale of the room and open up the space. Now all we need is the custom ottoman, fabulous accent chairs and x-benches!
Before: The layout didn’t allow for the family to run in and out of the open living, dining and kitchen area so we have opened up the space by placing the larger pieces on the sides of the room. The two new accent chairs will replace the old sofa location to create an open traffic flow.
Now: You can already see how much more open the room feels. The living room is going to be the perfect place for the kids to play, the adults to entertain and for the entire family to hang out!
And my favorite addition to the room so far are the custom pillows made with Kelly Wearstler’s Honeycomb trim!

That rug and wall color has already made a HUGE difference. I have GIANT double row of windows like that in my living room…is your preference to keep them drapery-free?

Oh…that RUG! LURVE!

I love all of your fabric selections for this room! That red wall was so overpowering. Looks great so far! Can’t wait to see it finished.

Can you tell me where you found the fabric for the accent chairs? How did you customize the ottoman? Those pieces perfect the room!
