Mastering The Master

I am looking forward to getting started on a client’s master bedroom and wanted to share the direction for the room today.  The master bedroom wasn’t on the immediate to-do list but the pops of yellow, graphic black patterns and gorgeous trims are making me giddy!  When we started looking at the small changes we were going to make in the room, the design took a completely new direction.  Here is a look at the inspiration for the room.  White bedding & drapes, simple graphic accents and bold pops of yellow against the teal walls.

Adding pops of yellow to the black, teal and white color palette was the initial focus……

And…now you can see that we took the room to a whole new level.  We decided to mix things up a bit and added large graphic patterns for pillows, the new 6′ headboard and insets for the nightstands. The warm golden yellow velvet and accents are going to tie it all together. I am looking forward to sharing the progress as things move forward.

Looking forward to seeing the progress. It’s awesome that your clients were game as well – so many clients shy away from strong pallettes. I love the blue and yellow combo so much that I decided to do it in my own home but used navy instead of teal. I will stay tuned…
