Darling Dining
We are preparing for the end of the year around the Studio and that means tons of organization and prepping for 2014! We have been going through our project files and making sure everything is buttoned up. I am in love with this dining nook that we recently completed for a client’s new home. I love the turquoise and coral mix and pops of bright white and bold pattern in this space. Since it is part of the open living space, we needed everything to feel cohesive by using color and texture. And now that we are planning our own casual dining nook, I feel inspired to get going and finally pull the trigger on a few pieces! Why is it so challenging to plan details for my own home?

Here is a look at the small room before we started on the design plan. A putty colored wall made the space feel dark and even smaller than it is. We updated the walls with a sophisticated soft grey, changed out the lighting and brought in all of the fabulous pieces you see! Sometimes you don’t need a major overhaul in a room, just a plan to make it function and become part of the home! Using a mirror in smaller dark spaces is a great way to open it up and bounce the light around, so don’t be afraid of an awkward dark space, there are always ways to bring it to life.
