Coffee Table Styling {Books, Bowls, Boxes & Trays}
Coffee tables are one of my favorite furniture pieces to style. I love that many of my clients request a large ottoman or unique table for their spaces. It makes the room more interesting and if the pieces function, even better. There is nothing worse than a pretty coffee table that doesn’t allow my client to “live” with it.
I wanted to share a few of my favorite styling pieces and tips for coffee table styling that I use in my projects. In reality, coffee tables don’t always stay perfectly styled. But, if you have the right accessories they are easy to keep tidy and organized while still being stylish. Here are a few of my favorites!

–Books are always a given when I’m styling a coffee table. I love using books that my client already has or books that are about subjects and places that my client loves. It is an easy way to personalize the space and not just throw random books on the table. They are a great place to prop a fun accessory and always bring in a bit of color too.

–Bowls are another fun accessory to add to a coffee table. They can be great catch-all for items that can junk up a coffee table. They can be subtle, colorful or just a pretty piece to help pull the overall look together. I find that my bachelor clients are the biggest fans, they love having places to “keep” things!

–Boxes are another great addition to a coffee table. I tend to use them more on larger coffee tables because they really work with the scale and can also be great storage places for remotes and other knick knacks you don’t always want laying around. These days, decorative boxes come in so many shapes, sizes and finishes. My favorites are the lacquered boxes with agates on top!!

–Trays are the perfect piece to keep your coffee table organized! You can add a stack of books, small bowl and even your remotes on them to keep you coffee table from looking cluttered. They are great on small coffee tables where you still want to be stylish but don’t have a ton of room for accessories. A great tray can really tie the space together too!
