Today’s Christmas Open House is from Emily in Louisiana. Emily is one of my dearest friends, sorority little sis and the one person I go to for an honest opinion! She lives in Shreveport with her husband and their “little buddy” , black kitty!
Their home is Traditional Southern Acadian Style and full of gorgeous details. The large front porch spans the width of the entire house and with it’s painted wood floor, white columns and brick stairs it is the perfect place to sip iced tea in the rocking chairs!
Emily’s style is very traditional but clean. Details like the gorgeous wide plank hardwoods, brick pavers on the kitchen floor, huge wood beams in the ceilings and expansive windows make this home one of my favorite places to visit. In order to keep the true southern traditional flair, Emily went with reds, greens and golds for for Christmas decorations
I LOVE LOVE LOVE her tree! It fits perfectly in this corner at the back end of their entry. Something I can never find the guts or time to do…stuff the tree with so many pieces of ribbon and tons of ornaments. I think it looks beautiful!
Emily loves the look of tule and “poofy” ribbon as she calls it. It think it looks fabulous as a tree topper.
Directly across from the Christmas tree in the entry, Emily hung a simple wreath and dressed it up with..yep..more tule! It’s gorgeous and the perfect way to tie in the texture and colors of her decorations without overwhelming the entry.
The fireplace mantel is simple and you can see pops of the red tule on the ends. The red cone trees on the hearth and green glitter trees on the mantle bring in the red accents that Emily wanted.
Merry Christmas Em! Thank you for allowing me to share your beautiful home with everyone! Miss and Love you!! Abbs
Check back this Friday, we will be stopping by Emily Clark’s home! We will be switching gears from this traditional southern Christmas to a modern and cozy Christmas! Have a fabulous Wednesday everyone!
