Christmas Open House: The Clarks

I am so excited to share the home of one of my favorite bloggers, Emily Clark.  I love Emily’s blog, design style and now her Christmas Decorations. Her home is modern and sleek, but not the kind of modern and sleek that is cold and uninviting. Her blog is full of great daily reads that show off the change in her home as well as her online  and local client base.

Since Emily and her husband have three children, their home needs to be durable and comfortable. I think Emily did a fabulous job pulling all of those details together and her Christmas decorations look like a million bucks!!!   She makes decorating for Christmas look easy with simple changes and creative touches.

Emily, thank you for giving us a look into your beautiful home. You are one of the kindest blog friends and I am so blessed to have met you. Thank you for being so wonderful to me  this year and introducing me to your blog.  Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Let’s start with her mantle. The gold starburst mirror has always been one of my favorite staples and it looks perfect in her living room.  The simple garland, twinkle lights and snowflake stocking hooks make the mantle festive without going over the top!  The navy, white and metallic color scheme are the perfect background for modern Christmas decorations right?!

The tree is full of handmade ornaments from her children! So cute!

A simple wreath hung over a mirror in the entryway always look beautiful to me. I’m also a fan of the acorns and pinecones along the base of the vases.  I love how the natural texture of these pieces tie in with the existing table lamps too!

Looking for an inexpensive way to bring cheer to your dining room table? Try using plastic snowflakes and affordable ornaments to bring in the holiday cheer.

The bookshelves in her home have a dark navy back wall that allow the decorative pieces to really pop and become a focal point. The white text pieces were recently added for the Christmas season and I love seeing what she did to modernize them!  See the full “how to” on her blog HERE.

Notice the simple metallic round ornament places next to “wish”.  I love the simplicity of it and the touch of bling is the perfect accent.

Check back tomorrow for more Christmas Open House!  We are stopping by to see the Jones family and taking a look at their modern craftsman home here in Dallas.  It is a West Elm Christmas Heaven.
