Back It Up
Most of the time, a client’s budget doesn’t always allow for us to include every single detail that we want to. It’s times like that when you need to get crafty and create the look you are after without pushing the budget any more. I love buying “budget” pieces for rooms that need to look fabulous with out the crazy price tag.
This formal dining room is going to be gorgeous! It will be the first room you see once you enter the client’s home so it needed to have that wow factor. And since this formal dining room will not be a high traffic area, we decided to update a few budget pieces with small bits of splurges to help pull it all together.
BEFORE: These simple linen chairs were the perfect foundation for the wow factor that we had in mind. The cost to upholster just the back of the chairs was minimal and we didn’t need a ton of fabric so that helped keep the cost down too.
AFTER: We had a grey wash added to the legs, kept the fabric on the seats and used this gorgeous Duralee Peacock fabric from Laura Kirar to dress them up. I CAN NOT wait to show off the other three chairs (in a coordinating pattern) as well as the driftwood dining table with a grey wash and the linen/silk drapes!!! Have I mentioned lately how much I love my job????

These chairs really have a new life. The fabric is very complimentary. Great Job.
