A Gypsy Soul
When one of my favorite Dallas vintage/thrift sources decided to move online, I was worried. I loved walking into The White Elephant and taking a look at all of the new pieces from Gypsy Soul Interiors. But, her new online shop is absolutely one of my favorite new places to shop. It is the perfect way to find affordable and stylish pieces for clients that know what they want but are not fans of retail chain stores. Vintage, thrift or recycled…whatever you call it…Kristen rocks it. She can even have the pieces painted or recovered for you if that’s not your thing. Kristin calls herself a purist when it comes to most things Southern. A pinch of traditional with equal parts funk and reckless abandon, Kristen’s style can only be defined as soulful living. With a design background and eye for bringing great lines to life, Kristen is my go to girl!
I LOVE this bamboo mirror! I snagged a set of these on a past project and updated them with a black lacquer finish for a big impact on a small budget!
BEFORE: Kristen currently has this GORGEOUS Greek Key bamboo mirror in the shop. With a touch of primer and a fabulous high gloss color, this piece will look like a million bucks.
AFTER: I used this set of mirrors in a client’s master bedroom. They were on a tight budget but wanted the room to feel pulled together without compromising the overall style of the room.
The Gypsy Soul Blog is also a great place for inspiration. Kristen shows you before and after transformations and even pieces that she has used in her own home. She recently added this Starburst ceiling fixture from Shop Ten 25 to her in home bar after lots of fixture hunting. The piece is perfect for the room don’t cha think? Love the yellow, black and sand color combo in the bedroom! Those mirrors hung behind the lamps also amplify the light and are so glam. Beautiful job!
