Want to avoid the nitpicking and terribly unstylish compromises when your aesthetic differs from your partner or roommate? When designing your new home together, it`s important to incorporate what each of you already loves without losing design cohesiveness.
Find Common Ground: Discussing your likes and dislikes will help to create the foundation for your home together. You may be surprised to find that you both love modern lighting and streamlined furniture but differ on art or the amount of accessories you like to layer in. This will help set the tone and allow you to understand each other`s expectations.
Collaborate: It’s an opportunity to create an environment that feels like both of you. After all, it’s a mix of pieces that makes a space interesting and personal.
Agree on a Color Palette: Stick with neutral basics and layer in pieces that work with your color palette, even if the styles are a mix. Rugs, art, and pillows are great pieces to compromise with and will create a layered look unique to who you are together.

Streamlined and sophisticated. ⚡️
DESIGN TIP
An elevated kitchen is always beautiful to look at, but should also be a functional hosting space. When it comes down to it, it doesn`t matter how beautiful a space is if it doesn`t work for you and how you use the space.
It`s important to create hidden spots for the not so pretty essentials that can take over and become major eyesores. But, just because items are tucked away doesn`t mean they have to be boring. Pretty storage bins, matching pots and pans, and coordinating dish towels can be the star of your kitchen whether they are tucked away or out for use.
