Think Pink

Yes, pink is my favorite color. But pink, like any other color can go way wrong. Today I wanted to share a few of my favorite ways to incorporate pink in any space. There really is no trick to getting the color right, I think its all about what works for you and how willing you are to push the pretty hue in just the right direction.

Not ready to make a full commitment to the color? Art is a great way to bring in shades of pink and if you play your cards right, it won’t feel too girly at all. Warmer variations of pink work well with crisp white and throwing a bit of lavender, yellow and brass in the mix will make it feel more sophisticated. I love the way the modern console balances out the abstract art while the frilly tray adds a neutral texture. The glass lamps are a perfect choice and finishing touch to the vignette too, the linen shades and tassels keep them from being lost in the grouping.

Now this is girl pink done right…but we are a little partial to this one. We designed the lobby of this lash studio to make women feel pretty and give them a place full of sparkly trinkets to take in as they wait for their appointment. We used Benjamin Moore’s Honey Hut on the walls, a soft pink with a warm undertone that complimented the hardwood floors well.

I love this bold look. The graphic tile on the floor, channel detailing on the chairs and brass accents are all perfect together. Commercial spaces like this restaurant can pull off going over the top because we love to be wowed when dining out…or at least I do. I am always in awe of how restaurants push the limits of design.

Bed (We had it recovered in pink velvet) | Black and White Drapes | Mirrored Nightstands | Black & White Art | Amethyst Lamp | Pink Boxes

This master bedroom is just… I love when client’s are on board with pushing the limits of design! The silk velvet headboard is stunning, but not the only showstopper in the room. A black and white striped loveseat, amethyst lamps and dashes of gold throughout the room created the perfect “Barbie Dream Home” as our client calls it.

Pink Overdyed Rug | Orange Chair | Acrylic Coffee Table | Ivory Love Seat | Gold Shelf

I love how the bold deep pink over dyed rug grounds the other bold pieces in this office. Orange, ivory and leopard print mix perfectly together and the pink in the room creates a confident design that is still very playful.

It is totally cliche to go with pink in baby girl’s nursery, but it doesn’t have to be boring. We used Valspar’s Zephyr Pink on the walls and built the boho vibe from there. We added turquoise, coral and bits of yellow to the color palette to keep the soft pink walls from taking over.

Pink is always a good idea when used in a dressing room or closet designed only for her. This dressing room and closet was inspired by the 1960’s British TV show Thunderbirds and designed by Christopher Peacock for the Kips Bay Show House in 2014. I think I love the deep pink lacquered walls the most!

Grey Sofa | Chairs | Rug | Mirrored Side Table | Pendants

Pink was the color of choice for our client’s office. The space needed to serve many functions for her clothing boutique but first and foremost, it needed to have lots of pretty pink elements. The large scale watercolor canvas was custom made by Black Crow Studios and it set the tone for the room. A pink chandelier brought the color up in the room and added a little sparkle.

It’s Easter weekend and of course I had to show off my favorite bunnies! We are working on a master bedroom update and thought this Hunt Slonem Bunny fabric from Lee Jofa would add a little something whimsical yet sophisticated…or maybe we use the wallpaper. Decisions, decisions.

Going Big in Small Spaces

Contrary to popular belief, small spaces can really benefit from going bold! We tend to gravitate towards darker paint or wallpaper on the walls in powder baths, like this gems we designed earlier this year.

All Hail Leopard!

All hail leopard! We’ve gotta say. A space just isn’t complete without a touch of leopard. Don’t you agree? Here are a few of our favorites “spots” from our recent installations!

We are finishing our countdown to Thanksgiving by celebrating with full bellies today. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is enjoying the leftovers. Here are the final dining spaces in our “Around The Table” Thanksgiving series. We have loved showing them off and hope that you feel inspired to dress your table next year!!

Around The Table Day 3 { Countdown To Thanksgiving}

We are continuing our countdown to Thanksgiving by celebrating a few of our favorite project dining spaces. Today I thought we would show off something bold, colorful and over the top. Our client has no fear of color or pattern and we love that about her. How fun would Thanksgiving be in this dining room?

Around The Table Again {Countdown To Thanksgiving}

We are continuing our countdown to Thanksgiving by celebrating a few of our favorite project dining spaces. Today, I thought we would show off a bit more formal dining space. Metallic linen chairs and crisp mod details create the perfect dining space to celebrate Thanksgiving with family. Modern details with classic fabrics, lighting and art helped us to create the WOW factor our client was after.

Around The Table {Countdown To Thanksgiving}

Where will you set the table this Thanksgiving? Will you be hosting, or traveling to spend time with family and friends?  This week, I will be sharing a few of our projects and featuring their lovely dining spaces. I love seeing where my clients entertain, the spaces range from formal to casual and today I wanted to start with one that is very unique.

This oversized marble island is the perfect place for family & friends to gather! Our client often works at the island, but it transitions to a great hang out space when she is entertaining friends too!

Wednesday Wants {Fabulous Rugs}

A great rug can tie a room together and lends itself to so many wonderful design elements for a room. It can establish a color palette, be the wow factor in the room or just tie a large open floorplan together.

This flatweave Dhurie from The Rug Company worked perfectly in our client’s open family space. We used the same rug in the living area and small dining space to create a cohesive feel. The warm grey rugs have a simple tribal pattern that give the room a bit of interest without taking over and looks soothing with the overall tonal grey color palette.
