The second annual Kibble and Cocktails is back, bringing together chef-crafted bites, freshly mixed beverages and cute canines, all in fabulous Dallas Design District location.
The April 9 party will feature culinary treats from Nick & Sam’s, FT33 and Nosh, among others, and cocktail pairings concocted from spirits from the William Grant & Sons family of liquors (which includes Hendrick’s Gin, Stoli and Milagro tequila).
Now for the reason for the party…
DFW Rescue Me will have tons of adorable puppy dogs for you to consider for adoption. Yep, you can pick up your next fur baby while you help to support this great organization!
The Details on Kibble and Cocktails:
What: A sweet party featuring dining and cocktail stations, a raffle and super-adorable dogs
When: Tuesday, April 9, 7 to 10 p.m.
Where: Maison Kiki Gallery, 1111 Dragon St., Dallas
How: Tickets are $100, get yours here!
Why: Because you can party and support DFW Rescue Me all at once!

DFW Rescue Me is one of my favorite local non profit organization whose goal is to reduce the number of animals euthanized in Dallas. Their goal is possible by spaying / neutering, adoption programs and educating about responsible pet ownership. Each year 5-7 million animals enter shelters nationwide. 3-4 million of those are euthanized, simply because no one wants them.

I’m super excited to finally have the opportunity to use a bold grasscloth wallpaper on not one, but two fabulous design projects. I adore the texture and color that it brings to a room even though it can be subtle. But, once it is up on the walls in a bold color, it steals the show! This lovely lavender is about to make an appearance in a client’s powder bath and it will have a bold graphic friend on the ceiling….eeekkk! I can’t wait to see it. I love this room.

I am also getting the change to bring a graphic grasscloth pattern into another project. This time, it is going to be a focal wall and it is going to make the room! Phillip Jefferies has some of the most options when it comes to modern graphic patterns. I love this bold orange chain link pattern! I can’t wait to share the final selections!

Yesterday I was feeling fuchsia! I recently had a fabulous office space photographed that had tons of fuchsia accents and accessories (you can see more pics on my instagram account), I received a few new pillows for Shop Ten 25′s inventory and I busted out my fuchsia agate necklace to brighten up my outfit for the day. And how precious are the girls hanging out in The Studio?! They look adorable hanging out in front of my favorite watercolor pieces from The Summer Project!

I’d like to say that fall is here in Texas…but not just yet. Since our summers are so hot, it makes hanging out on the patio a little challenging when temps linger in the high 90s to the 100s. Even though we are still facing high temps, cooler weather is on the way! Fall in Texas is my favorite time of year because we can finally sit outside and enjoy our outdoor spaces. Today I wanted to share a few of my favorite patio spaces that we have been working on for clients.
This long rectangular porch and the overside front porch swing is going to be a great place to lounge around. We recently added new outdoor pillows using Perennials fabric and there are a few more pieces on the way that will help to create the perfect place to hang out.

I absolutely LOVE this outdoor space. We created three seating areas under the covered l-shaped patio for my client’s friends and family to gather. The bright accent pieces like the rugs, pillows and trays really made the patio come alive. I think the large outdoor dining table is my favorite place in this outdoor space. What a fabulous place to hang out and enjoy the fall weather under the trees.

I loved that this client’s outdoor space was enclosed within the layout of the home. The space is open to the big blue sky and who doesn’t love an outdoor fireplace?! The starburst mirrors are my favorite addition to the space hands down!

I am working with a client that has such an amazing home! Most of the major pieces are in place but we are on a mission to get the house pulled together by updating the accessories and bring in a few fabulous details.
The kitchen is open to the main living room and there are super tall vaulted ceilings that open up over both space. Since we are adding a fabulous new kitchen island and updating the countertops…we needed a large scale chandelier to hang over the new island. After a few trips to the new Timothy Oulton store here in Dallas, we have pulled the trigger on one of their metal orb fixtures that just happens to have a sparkly chandelier hanging inside of it!!!
Here is is in all of it’s glamourous glory!!! The industrial feel mixed with the glitzy sparkle of the chandelier is the perfect combination for my client’s home!

And a little touch that will tie in the industrial/glam feel is using rope to “hang” the chandelier. Here are a few shots of what we are thinking about doing with the rope!

Such a fabulous touch to any fixture! Here are a few other pieces using rope that I LOVE! I’m thinking I may need to look around my house to see where I can bring a little rope in!

We are having a much needed rainy day here in Dallas, I love catching up on office work when the weather is crummy. I don’t feel so bad for being tied to my desk and missing a fabulous sunny day! I hope you are all having a great day wherever you are! The Studio is going to be busy this fall with a whole slew of GORGEOUS new projects so keep an eye out as we share the details!

Last summer the Texas heat was so obnoxious and overwhelming that we are having to replant the entire east side of our yard this year. I thought it would be no big deal to have the new sod put in but wow, it makes a HUGE difference and I love the way the new grass looks so fresh, bright green and it’s super soft!
Our backyard is a different story, with two bird dogs running around the grass takes a beating. So much of a beating, that we have considered having turf put in. Once we began to investigate the cost and options out on the market today we were surprised to see what people do with turf and faux grass around the house too. Grassland has to be one of my favorite finds! They use dried grass panels to make anything from grass walls to grass letters for logos and FABULOUS lighting.
Here are a few of my favorite faux grass look! It’s amazing what people come up with, I think the grass like rugs are the most functional. I love the way they bring in a crisp modern look. We used them on a client’s patio project and they brought in much needed texture and color while keeping the modern look….anyone else feel a sneeze coming on?

I love the bold statement that neon can make in a room. Of course it makes a big impression even if it’s only in small doses. Bright, bold and a new take on the term “pop of color”. I’m not sure I could ever live with a ton of it for long, but I sure love the way it is showing up all over the place.

I am in the process of designing a custom floor mirror for a small room in a client’s home. I love how a mirror can instantly open up a room and bounce around light when there are not many windows in the space. I have a fabulous vanity that is being used on one side of the bed. We decided to go with a vanity that would actually serve as a nightstand and a vanity. Since the room is so small, we don’t even have room for two night stands. I’m not happy about that, but when rooms give you lemons….you know…you pull out all of the tricks! The mirror we are having framed will be a little bit wider than the vanity and slightly taller than the headboard. Looks like I’m not the only one with this idea…her are a few of my favorite inspiration photos of floor mirrors used to expand small spaces.
