Outdoor Fabrics Are Fabulous
Updating a room doesn’t always require tossing everything and starting over. If the pieces you have are the right scale for the room but just need a fresh update, it can be worth the cost to recover or update them. Quality furniture pieces that are transitional in style can easily fit into your space and lean towards an updated look with a more modern fabric.
Our client had all of the basic pieces in place for their family room, but we just needed to tweak a few things to brighten up the space and complete the room.
BEFORE: The sofa and love seat were upholstered in a dark beige fabric that was starting to show quite a bit of wear and aging. It was time for a major update and we couldn’t wait to see the new slipcovered pieces. The furniture configuration worked well in the room and we had a few changes in mind to make the space feel more light, bright and super chic and cozy.
AFTER: We choose an indoor/outdoor fabric from Perennials for a few reasons. First, we loved the snake print pattern because it was classic and timeless. And second, we needed something that was going to be durable and easy to remove and wash if it became dirty. We replaced a few of the smaller accent tables with metal and mirrored pieces to bounce the light around and compliment the larger scale of the sofas.
I love the addition of the green, orange and lavender color palette. Although we didn’t use too much of the accent colors, they make the space feel happy and complete the bold yet cozy look that our client was after.
