Progress Report
For the past few months I have been watching a client’s home go from blah to beautiful. The home needed lots of love, repairs and updating to help them create the home they have been dreaming of. The dining room is actually on of the rooms that received the least amount of changes but I wanted to share a few pictures of the changes and now the almost finished look! Not long ago I shared a few before and after pictures of the chairs, the transformation from burgundy upholstery to turquoise velvet helped them to become one of my favorite additions to the room.
BEFORE: The walls were the standard peachy beige, the light fixture was a tad too traditional the floors needed to be refinished. In order to tone down the large scale that the room has, we added a turquoise metallic wallpaper on the ceiling with a fun little trim detail. I love how the room feels contained now and how the turquoise paper compliments the velvet dining chairs.
AFTER: The bold ikat linen drapes bring in some much needed color without taking over the room as well as competing with the wallpaper. A fabulous branch chandelier, driftwood table and mirrored console are a nice mix and keep the dining room from going over the top formal. I love the casual feel, yet the room is perfect for entertaining guest no matter how fancy the party!
