Since starting Studio Ten 25 in 2007, things sure have fallen into place for me. I always new that I wanted to be an interior designer and after 8 or so years of trying different sides of the design business, it was time to stand on my own. As I built my business things fell into place so quickly. Now, I’m’ not saying there were not crazy days, tons of long hours (still doing that one) and hair pulling moments (taxes)..but for the most part I have loved what Studio Ten 25 has become.
So when your “co-workers” (local showrooms and product reps) throw your name in the hat for a fabulous local honor ( D Home’s 2013 Best Designers), it really does make you sit back and appreciate all of that hard work and patience that has gone into something so important. Being listed among such amazing Dallas designer like Michelle Nussbaumer, Jan Showers & John Phifer Marrs is crazy and exciting all at the same time!
If you are in Dallas, pick up a copy with the bright pink cover and check out all of the fabulous color tips! And, keep your eyes pealed for the JC’s Upholstery ad featuring our Turquoise Firefly Boutique project too!! Lots to see and a list to look through too!

I am still on a high over the recent feature on our latest chic boutique project in House of Fifty! Today I thought it would be fun to show off a few of the before and after images from the projects. I always love looking back on the progress of projects, remembering the challenges, exciting moments and of course the look on my client’s faces when the final look comes together.
This old historic Church in downtown Celina, TX was the perfect location for the boutique and coffee/bar that my clients had planned. The upstairs portion of the building was being used as a residential loft when they purchased it, and although there were a few cool design elements, they were not going to work for the layout we needed.
BEFORE: This view of the gorgeous stained glass windows suspended in wall screamed “main check out area”. It was going to become one of our favorite focal points in the space and would be instantly seen as soon as you walked into the boutique.
AFTER: Now, the custom cash wrap desk provides the perfect amount of work space for the employees and the entire sales floor and main entrance can be see from the area. I love that it helps to ground the space and it really does make the stained glass windows pop!
BEFORE: The main office was being used as the past owner’s master bedroom. the exposed brick wall are beyond amazing and made the perfect backdrop for the large scale art and lighting that we were going to add. The natural light was also a plus in the space!
AFTER: Here is the exact same view of the room. We had to move a few walls and a powder bathroom around to make the entrance work, but it gave a a ton of usable space for office. The lounge area was a much
BEFORE: The downstairs coffee bar and bar area was a blank slate. The owners knew exactly what they wanted to do with the space but it needed a ton of TLC
AFTER: Now the space is a warm and cozy coffee bar by day with an open lounge area and table for customers to catch up on work or with a friend. By night, the bar becomes host so local bands and patrons looking to shake of a long day.
I love nothing more than walking into the entry space of someone’s home and being blown away. Of course I’m talking about the glitz and glam factor that makes me swoon! A little sparkle, a little shine and tons of over the top glamour are the perfect elements to create an entry that is sure to wow any guest! Of course the Holiday season easily lends itself to the sparkle and shine of the season, what a perfect time to push for a little glamour!
This entry happens to be one of my favorites from a Studio Ten 25 project! You can see a few more details of the entire project HERE.
1. Jackie Starburst Mirror 2. Silk Tulips 3. Elexis Crackle Gunmetal Lamp 4. Black Glass Console 5. Blue X-Bench 6. Animal Print Rug
I walked into CVS this weekend to pick up a few knick knacks and was so excited to see this on the news stand!!! It is my first national exposure in a design magazine and it’s taking all of my restraint not to pick up every copy….in Dallas!!!!
I previously worked with Rebecca Razo when she included me in the KITCHENS and BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS special interest publications earlier this year. I have been so fortunate to work with her and to have her write such fabulous stories about my projects. This one is one of my favorites. I love that a house full of little boys can still be chic and colorful without giving up any of the gorgeous details. Here are a few of the iPhone pics I snagged from the news stands….and a few of the gorgeous project below! Happy Monday.

I called Sam & Kevin up from Swoon The Studio to see if they had any good ideas for a small update to my design site. I wanted to rework the BUZZ section of my Studio Ten 25 website and it just went live today! I Have worked with Sam & Kevin for almost two years now, and they continue to rock out everything they do for me! They created the Studio Ten 25 website, Blog and new look for Shop Ten 25….whew…they have been busy! Here are a few tidbits of the new BUZZ carousel, super cool and very organized. I love that there is lots to look at and through. PRESS, TESTIMONIALS and AWARDS each have their own brightly colored tab you can find them easily too. We have even included a few links to our client’s websites so take a look around, hope you love it as much as I do!!!
Not only have I been busy getting Shop Ten 25 ready to move over to a new design format, but I have also been working on The Design Studio! It’s a challenge to give myself a fabulous space to work in these days, I have been so busy showing love to all of my other projects that The Studio has just fallen to the side. Although I LOVEED the pops of pink and overall girly look, it was time to take things up a few notches and really go glam! Here is what the old space looked like….
After months of planning and ordering and waiting things kept taking a backseat and I was getting bummed about the entire project. But, today was the first time that I have been really excited about the updates to the new office! I had a custom desk built into the old closet, painted, picked up a new conference table and chairs and am happy to see the long awaited backorderd pieces show up! And today was the big day. I have had a serious obsession and major crush on Arteriors Home’s new Tassel Lamps since they hit the market and I finally have a set of my own! Navy and black tassels, a stunning black shade with gold lining and and the perfect addition to The Studio!
Here is a sneak peek at the progress!! I hope to have this Design Studio 100% and up an running as soon as the finishing touches show up! Of course I will share…

Now that Shop Ten 25 is getting a major overhaul, it is time to introduce the FACEBOOK and TWITTER page! When I started The Shop a little over 3 years ago, I had no idea that it would take off the way that it has. I started Shop Ten 25 as an extension of my design studio, Studio Ten 25. I though it would be a great way for my clients to get a better feel for my design aesthetic as well as have a place to look through some of my favorite pieces. After a year or so, The Shop was doing so well that I turned to Swoon [The Studio] for a major facelift. Now, The Shop is once again going through big changes and my little idea of having an online boutique has turned into a major part of my business.
Please join us on Facebook and Twitter as we continue to grow! We will be sharing tons of our new additions, latest obsessions and of course tons of fabulous images of Shop Ten 25 pieces in our customer’s houses!
I’m also excited to say that the Weekend Window has been a big favorite and we are excited to have it on The Studio Ten 25 Blog every Friday! Keep an eye out for The Shop’s new website launching in a few weeks, we promise to let you know when it’s ready to go! We will be celebrating with a BIG sale, giveaways and tons of fabulous new pieces too!!!
The Summer Soiree held at the Caylpso Women’s and Calypso Home store last night was fabulous. So many beautiful things and of course…a big Sale!!! There were pink cupcakes, champagne and of course tons of gorgeous pieces for your home and wardrobe. Kristin (from Paper Doll Style) and I had a wonderful time showing off the two stores and I hope we are able to do this again soon. Here are a few pics from the two locations!

This past Saturday, The Dallas Morning News featured a few of their favorite tangerine home accessories and accent pieces from local designers and shop owners. I was happy to see that a few pieces from Shop Ten 25 made the cut! Shop Ten 25’s Arabesque Rug and Good Vibration art print are in the round up along with that gorgeous Mottega lamp!
The Arabesque Rug has been one of our favorites and we love the how the blog graphic and mix of orange and tangerine instantly brighten up any room. I love how the rug lends itself easily to a room that is masculine and can even compliment a feminine feel as well.

My husband and I spent New Year’s Even in Nashville this year. I loved getting a break from Dallas and taking in a scene that reminded me to not take life so seriously and to enjoy the fun and unplanned moments that life has to offer.
But, I’m back in The Studio today and even though my “to-do” list is six pages…yes…six pages…I am looking forward to the new year! This morning I am packing up the last minute details needed for a photo shoot at a client’s home and excited to see where the possibilities go. Then, I’m off to knock a few more items off the list…I love a busy day! I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday Season relaxing, eating and spending time with your family and friends.

I am a planner and sometimes making plans gets in the way of living life when you try so hard to control it all. So instead of making a HUGE list of goals/plans for 2012, I am going to dummy it down to 10-15 priorities and make the best of my life, my business and listen to what God has in store for me. I always start each year off with a mound of things that I want to accomplish, achieve and finish but by March I end up feeling completely overwhelmed and scrap half of the items on the list. My theme for 2012 is going to be: KEEP IT SIMPLE, love what I do, make time for others and take it day by day. What are your goals for 2012? Are you a list maker too or do you just fly by the seat of your pants?
