This past weekend Culture Map Dallas featured one of my latest design projects and titled the story “Designer Abbe Fenimore teaches us a think or two about decorating boldly“.  Boldly? Yes please! I love seeing how other describe my work and Rachael Abrams totally gets me, we had a fabulous interview and she really did push me to think about why we used each piece and how it pulled the entire family home together! I love all my clients, but the first time I met with Claria Nieves, owner of LashMaxx, we instantly hit it off. It didn’t hurt that her vision for her studio was right up my girly, bling-lovin’ alley. Claria has been beautifying the world for more than 8 years, first as a makeup artist and now as a “lashionista.” She’s a beauty expert who shares my belief that glamour is always on trend, so we designed her new Dallas studio to be over-the-top glam. Yesterday I shared a few of my favorite BEFORE and AFTER images of the space. So as we finalize the interior expansion of their growing space, I thought it would be fun to share the updates and hear from the Lashionista too!   Here’s what she had to say about the design process and the fabulous final product:

Q: Why were you drawn to Abbe’s style as an interior designer?

The first time I saw Abbe’s work, I instantly became a fan. It’s very glam and chic, but also had personality.

Q: What aesthetic did you want to create?

I wanted my space to look very glamorous. I love chandeliers and mirrors, and that was music to Abbe’s ears!

Q: How did Abbe help refine and create your vision?

She totally got my vision, and delivered so much more. She brought in some patters and other little details that I would have never thought of myself. It really brought the entire space to life.

Q: What do you love most about your studio?

I love everything! A few of my favorite things are the Mongolian fur benches, my chair in my office and my custom made Lash Maxx illustrations by Stephanie Jiminez.

Today I’m over at Effortless Style talking about a typical day around The Studio. If you haven’t seen the “In Her Shoes” features on ES’s blog, they are worth taking a look at. I’m excited to be joining the great group of ladies that have shared a day in their shoes too!

Knowing that the September Fashion and Home issue of Modern Luxury Dallas would most likely be up online at midnight……I did my best to keep my eyes open and hit “refresh” on my laptop every 5 minutes!! Finally, at 12:02 A.M. it was up!!!  When Rebecca Sherman first contacted me to dish on my favorite design finds, I was super excited and had no idea how to narrow it down.  I recently posted ” Design Crush W&R” about Woodson & Rummerfield and am so happy to see them mentioned here in Dallas! Yay Yay Yay!!! We are sooo excited to finally share our profile in the January / February 2010  issue. As always a HUGE THANK YOU to my kind, giving and talented friend Melanie Johnson for her amazing photographs. She has been such a blessing to Studio Ten 25 and of course to my life.  And of course we are also thankful to have clients that allow us to take over their home in order to capture the look and feel that we have created to them.
