    THE BLOG

I love the look of a painted floor! Large stripes, zig zags and even modern patterns are some of the more popular choices that I have seen.  I tend to think of a painted floor as more of a fit for a home that is more on the cottage, beachy  or Shabby Chic side of design.  But, painted floors can also be chic and modern!  Who needs a rug when you can hand paint any design, style and color to fit your home and decor.

Want 10 reasons why you should paint your floor? My Home Ideas has them here! Reason #4 is my favorite.

Not sure how to tackle a project like this? Here are a few great places to find inspiration, ideas and the details to get it done right!

    1. Great post Abbe! You have given me inspiration for a bar area (in my own house) that we are about to redo this Fall.
(I LOVE Joel Woodard’s style, he has an amazing portfolio.) I’m now thinking I’ll paint our old wood floors and paint our wood trim a high gloss paint, similar to the pic you had of Joel’s. We live in a restored 1800′s farmhouse and have painted some of the floors in other rooms. I hadn’t even thought of painting the bar area floors until this inspirational post….so thank you!
When it comes to fruition, I’ll let you know….and probably blog about it!
      Have a great day….
