    The Powder Bath

    Ok, so there is no Halloween themed post today but there is a pop of orange. Does that count?

    I love taking an already great powder bath and making it even more fabulous. I have been dying to get a cool wallpaper on someone’s ceiling and this powder bath is the one!!  Malachite, agate and natural stones are so hot right now and this pale blue/green paper was begging to be installed on the ceiling.  We are going to add the lavender grasscloth on the walls and accent the built in storage with a pop of silky orange!!  It’s going to rock, can’t wait to show it off!!  Just a little sneak peek, I’m seriously in love with my client’s painting too. It was the inspiration for the funky color palette.

    Puppy Portraits

    Last week I received a package that I have been patiently waiting for!  As you probably know, I love love love my puppy dogs and since we don’t have children they complete our family for sure.  The extremely talented Luke Jervis has gone above any expectation I could have in regards to portraits of our girls. The Victorian portraits are absolutely gorgeous. Every little detail from the clothing, look in their eyes and of course those special broaches! Caddo has a pheasant and Ivy has a squirrel on her broach, the perfect little detail that makes my two bird dogs extra chic!

    The arrived simply wrapped and fastened with a thin rope and a hand written name tag…I almost hated to undo such a pretty package.

    Let’s start with Ivy. Luke capture her attitude perfectly! After going through quite a few pictures of her and sending them over, I think she was captured exactly how we see her.  That serious “I will get that squirrel” stare is one of her signature looks! Getting this sister to pose with her own portrait wasn’t easy, she thinks everything is a vacuum cleaner…such a scaredy cat!

    And now, Miss Caddo Brown. This little Brittany is super stylish and always posing for the camera. I swear she does, every time we grab the camera or iphone, she starts to pose and act like she is hunting.  Even when she is hunting for real, she is on! Most of her pictures have serious hunting face so I love that this captures her inner supermodel, and she looks fabulous in the warm golden yellow tones too!

    I told you Caddo was the camera hog. She just decided to lay down on the chair and was not moving.  So I decided to push Ivy in for one last shot with her sister and their gorgeous custom portraits!  If you want to see more of Luke’s work, check out The Love Maegan Blog. ADORABLE!!  And if you must have one of these for your fur baby, head over to Luke’s website and snag one for yourself, they are worth the wait! I love seeing Caddo and Ivy on the home page with all of these other adorable furry pets!

    My Favorite Shop in Soho

    I am finally back from my mini-vacation in NYC and am so excited to share a few of the wonderful things I was able to see.  I love visiting the city and this time I was able to catch up with great friends, See The Giants beat the Redskins, catch a show on Broadway and shop with one of my best girlfriends of course! I also had time to stop by one of my favorite pillow designers, Ankasa.  I recently added their gorgeous pillow line to The Shop but seeing the entire line in their Soho shop was beyond blissful!!! There is something about a huge wall full of pillows, over stuffed beds, lots of sequins and chic vignettes that make my heart race! Here are a few pics from my visit to the shop.

    New Digs

    Last week one of my client’s moved into their new, GORGEOUS and navy blue (well the actual color is “gale force”) home.  I love that it stands out on the block and has major curb appeal!

    Now that all of the furniture pieces are in place, it is time to start finalizing the rest of the lighting, art and accessories. This one is going to be a blast! I promise to share more as things change!

    Get The Look {Graphic & Glam}

    Something about the dark espresso ceiling and twig-like sputnik chandelier in this room makes it feel like Fall to me. Funny how a room can resemble a season. Apparently, warm metallics, hefty furniture, and geometric details are a recipe for Autumn decor goodness!

    Old Chains

    I love selecting lighting for my projects, and when I find something unique, I’m all over it.  This bachelor pad has an open floor plan and once we began to select lighting, we knew that we wanted something that would help to fill the space and bring a big wow factor.

    The bike chain chandeliers from Carolina Fontoura and have been on my wish list since I blogged about them this past summer.  Carolina uses old bike chains, rims and gears to create the pieces and brings her extreme creativity to each one of them. We had four pieces made for the client’s new home, I love how they are so masculine but almost have a bit of glam!
