Weekend Window {Hide Heaven}

Last week, I explored the “Glam Camp” look… it’s 1 part rustic, 1 part exotic, 1 part glamorous. This week I’m taking things to the next level with nothing but cowhides! You heard me right!! Cowhide covered ottomans and lounges are no longer just for JR and the boys. Take one of these beauties from today’s post and mix it into a room full of warm neutrals or vibrant jewel-tones and watch it take on a totally new life. This gold and tan hide rug is probably my favorite thing in the shop right now. It’s ahhhmaazing, right?!! Fierce glamour is what I’m calling this hide-centric trend and I’m seriously obsessed.

The last thing I bought online

I loving being a part of fun blog posts! Today, Emily Clark asked 10 bloggers/designers to share “the last thing I bought online” and I am excited to be a part of the group!

We are about 90% finished with the update in the studio so it was fun to share the latest addition to the room with Emily and her readers. There are tons of fabulous finds from other bloggers too..you can see more HERE.

Here are a few of the images from The Studio that were not on Emily’s blog today. You can find the navy & black Tassel Lamp in The Shop!

Laser Cut

I have been out and about shopping and pulling ideas for clients this week and came across the new laser etched pieces  from Edelman leather. It is inspired by Spanish lace, handcrafted by age old techniques, and modernized by using laser etching and cut technology on leather.

Patterns can be scaled and customized, but the standard offerings are pretty fabulous already ! I love that it can be used as an upholstery, drapery, pillows, panels, art work and in fashion too!

The Merry Go Round pattern is my absolute favorite and I’m pretty sure we are going to use it on a custom ottoman for a client’s T.V. room!  It looks amazing with the new hippie cow rug we just added to the room! Here are a few sneak peeks of the new hippie cow rug (did I mention it has a bright pink stitch?!!) with the GORGEOUS Merry Go Round laser cut leather that will go on the new bench! Very excited to see this project come together. Follow Studio Ten 25 on Twitter and Instagram to keep up with the latest project sneak peeks!

Weekend Window {Glam Camp}

Today’s Weekend Window look is inspired by the undeniable appeal of exotic travel and my inevitable draw towards glamour and sophistication. Imagine Babe Paley goes on a safari… that’s the vibe I’m after with this collection of shop pieces. All you need to achieve the look is a healthy dose of rustic woods, a few metallic surfaces, a modern animal print, one strong geometric, and a couple statement pieces with lots of global charm. You’re practical on your way already!!

I Want To Go Glamping, Again!

Since I’m married to a true outdoorsman, weekends spent outdoors is a given.  We even spent out honeymoon at an outdoor hotel in Mexico called Verana.  It was “glamping” at it’s best and once you get past the threat of scorpions and getting into your net covered bed quickly so that critters don’t jump in with you…it was a great experience.  I LOVED  our outdoor room and after a day or two, I started to enjoy the simplicity of being outdoors with the modern amenities!

Here are a few pics from our room at the resort.  I loved the wooden plank that spun around the metal beam that was our door. The shower and sink area were fully exposed too! The bed was actually covered and at night they would turn down the bed (I’m sure they were also making sure there were no critters in there), and then completely wrap the bed in a net.

How does it work? Think of a  4, or 5 star hotel, then take away all of the walls, major roads, and plop it down the middle of a of a forest…or jungle.  In very simple terms, that is Glamping.  It was a  wonderful escape from everyday life and yet the amenities were top notch. A spa, gourmet meals and  more time to kick back and relax on your terms.  We had such a great time that we are thinking of going back for an anniversary trip!

Hanging By a Rope

I am working with a client that has such an amazing home! Most of the major pieces are in place but we are on a mission to get the house pulled together by updating the accessories and bring in a few fabulous details.

The kitchen is open to the main living room and there are super tall vaulted ceilings that open up over both space. Since we are adding a fabulous new kitchen island and updating the countertops…we needed a large scale chandelier to hang over the new island. After a few trips to the new Timothy Oulton store here in Dallas, we have pulled the trigger on one of their metal orb fixtures that just happens to have a sparkly chandelier hanging inside of it!!!

Here is is in all of it’s glamourous glory!!!  The industrial feel mixed with the glitzy sparkle of the chandelier is the perfect combination for my client’s home!

And a little touch that will tie in the industrial/glam feel is using rope to “hang” the chandelier.  Here are a few shots of what we are thinking about doing with the rope!

Such a fabulous touch to any fixture! Here are a few other pieces using rope that I LOVE!  I’m thinking I may need to look around my house to see where I can bring a little rope in!

Thrift Studio Is Back!

I support a non-profit organization here in Dallas called Dwell with Dignity.  Dwell with Dignity is a non-profit made up of Interior Designers and volunteers dedicated to creating soothing, inspiring homes for families struggling with homelessness and poverty.  They provide and install home interiors for families enrolled in programs geared to get them from homelessness to self-sufficiency.  The home interiors they provide include furnishings and art, bedding and kitchen supplies, and food in the pantry.  They believe that if you can change a person’s environment you change their outlook on life.
