I have been working on the design plan for a client’s new lake house for the past few months. Now that the construction is wrapping up, it is time to finalize all of the details! The finishes, furniture and fabric have all been finalized so now it is time to move onto the final touches. The lake house is in Louisiana and we are going with a classy, chic and cozy feel for the house. Here is a sneak peak of the overall look for the house.
While shopping with my client recently, we ran across Louisiana artist Elaine Gleason. Her pieces are absolutely perfect for the house and bring a bit of Louisiana state pride into the home without going overboard. Here are a few of my favorites, now we just need to find the perfect spot!
This week has been slow around The Studio as we take a little vacation before the new year. I have been spending a bit of my free time this week cleaning out my office and organizing bits and pieces for exciting new projects. I have been obsessed with a client’s new home and can’t stop thinking about all of the fabulous updates we are going to do through the next year. With all of the rooms on the “to-do” list for the home, the butler’s pantry is becoming one of my favorites. I have big ideas for this long and narrow hallway space! I’m seeing sparkly accents, fabulous hardware and a touch of turquoise. Even though this butlers pantry is tucked away, it is sure to be one of the most glamourous spots in the house! Take a look at my favorite inspiration shots for the space.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all my dear readers!! It’s finally time to unwrap those much anticipated presents under the tree and celebrate the joys of friends and family with delicious foods and drinks!
We don’t get boatloads of snow here in Dallas often but the chilly weather, christmas lights and holiday buzz in the air still bring the joyous feeling of Christmas to the city even if we don’t have a White Christmas. Another thing we don’t see in the city much is the randomly decorated tree. This past week we drove to Arkansas to spend Christmas with my family and I though it was sweet to see how someone had decorated a random tree with decorations (sorry I do not have any pictures…snapping pics with the iPhone while a dog sleeps on your lap isn’t easy). So today, I wanted to share the beauty of an outdoor Christmas Tree. Mother nature mixed with a few simple ornaments and a string of lights is absolutely beautiful. I hope you are enjoying the Holiday Season!
Four more days until Santa pops down the chimney and drops off all of the goodies on his list! I love this time of year because of the visits with family, last minute shopping and the smell of spice in the air. Every year when I add to our Christmas decor, I find myself dreaming of more chic and glamourous pieces. But, I have a husband that loves the outdoors, rustic elements and manly accents so going chic for Christmas is not an options. One day I will take over my design studio with pink, white and glitzy Christmas decorations…but for now I will just admire these fabulous pink and chic looks. The last picture is my favorite! I would have loved a pink Christmas Tree as a little girl.
I stopped by a client’s space last week to say hello and fell in LOVE with her Christmas decoration. This is a perfect example of bringing in decor that works with your interiors. We used silver, white and lavender along with mirrored pieces to bring in the glamorous look my client wanted. Her decorations are in the same color palette and bring in the festive Holiday feel without straying from the already glamorous look of the space. I love the monochromatic feel that the garland and ornaments create too. You can see the original images of the space HERE.
