Kate from Centsational Girl had a great idea and started a “where do you blog party”. I was so excited to see the invitation and I love seeing where everyone else blogs!
We are #192 on the list…..

My husband started his new business, moved into a new office space and the “dude” room was doomed the moment the golf “stuff” left in a box.
I wasted no time painting, shopping and changing out the dark room into my home office and “studio”! I think to really appreciate the room, you have to know what it looked like before!

A few weeks ago I began to organize the heap of papers, fabrics and randoms in the office and just decided to re-arrange the entire space. It feels more open and I love that I’m not looking directly at the T.V. now, I can be easily distracted!

The girls are always hanging out with me, I love this Jax and Bones bed with Mod Green Pod Fabric!

It’s hard to believe that 2010 will be calling it quits in just a few months. 2010 was full of the color turquoise, ground breaking patterns, wallpaper and taking the old and making it new again. Want to know a little more about 2010 trends? Check out Decorator Secrets.

Wandering what will be the top 2011 interior design trends? Think nature, ethnic colors, casual chic and cheerful. Experts’ forecasts for 2011 vary and include everything from cool neutrals and muted colors to deep rich colors ranging from icy grays and chocolate browns to bright reds, fuchsia purples and sapphire blue or a washed out denim. Whew…that’s a lot to keep an eye on but I can’t wait to see what designers come up with!
Although we can always expect to see neutrals to remain a staple in fashion and interior design, the turquoise, orange and fuschia color palettes of 2010 are not going anywhere!

From what I have been seeing, Coral looks to be a huge color trend for 2011

Not sure you can commit to a room that painted coral, turquoise or orange, here are a few furniture and accessory ideas to bring a touch of color to the space.
The Marilyn Side Chair

A garden stool makes a great accent table and really adds a punch of color to a room.

Color and Pattern! Accent Pillows are also another great way to mix up the color palette.

My latest shopping obsession….decorative trays. Large, small, colorful, metallic and even patterned. They are a great way to bring a pop of color into a space and a great way to display fun and unique accessories. Of course there are always the ways you can actually use them in your home too. Use them to carry drinks around for party guests, to serve cheese & crackers and of course the more basic trays are great for those trips to the BBQ grill!

Most American households have at least one ceiling fan. They lower energy bills by providing a cooling breeze during the warm months, and by circulating warm air during cooler weather. Since ceiling fans replace a room’s ceiling light fixture, it’s not surprising that one of the first improvements made to fan design was the addition of a light kit. Light fixtures are available for almost all ceiling fans, with designs that complement any style of fan or room decor.
This addition works perfectly in the space. Image: Better Homes and Gardens

It looks like you can add more than just a drum shade or chandelier to a fan these days. Really? I’m not so sure about this one. Image:

Looking for a great “how to” when installing a drum shade on an existing ceiling fan? I feel inspired but not sure how that will work in our house, we have low ceilings. Image: Young House Love

Another great example of a drum shade as an addition to the existing ceiling fan. Image: Apartment Therapy

Here is a GREAT before and after from Gail at My Repurposed Life!

Maybe your not into adding a lamp shade or drum shade to your ceiling fan. How about a chandelier or unique light fixture?
The Mustard See Collective rocked out her fan with this diy teardrop addition

This fixture is from Fantastic Fans, it’s girly for sure but would look perfect in a little girl’s room.

California-based designer and developer Steve Hermann finished a home in Montecito and it is now for sale. Aaaaaamazing! 14,000 square feet set on a 3.5 acre estate of oak groves, this almost entirely glass home allows the outside to come in while still allowing privacy.

My latest design crush….Woodson & Rummerfield .
Hollywood Opulance & decadant glamour….yep, that pretty much sums them up! The fabulous pairing of Jamie Rummerfield and Ron Woodson have been one of my design crushes for a while now. Look how chic these two are!! I also love how they take a picture of themselves in the designed space.

Ron Woodson and Jaime Rummerfield are interior designers, co-owners of the boutique Woodson and Rummerfield’s House of Design in Los Angeles, as well as designer of fabrics, furnitures, and home goods. Their interior design clients include The House of Versace, John Travolta and Kelly Preston, Courtney Love, Christina Aguilera and many more. Wow, that’s quite the resume right?
This home is by far my favorite. I LOVE the rug and the hip yet comfortable vibe in the space.

Here are a few more images of their interiors

Ron Woodson was named one of House Beautiful’s Top Young Designers for 2005 and Jamie Rummerfield has become one of LA’s most sought after designers! Ron and Jamie joined forces in 2005 and soon opened Woodson & Rummerfield’s House of Design in LA that houses their design studio and retail store.
Here are a few of my favorite pieces

And…it doesn’t stop there folks! They recently released a new book, High Style. With over 300 stunning photographs, High Style packs all the glamour of Los Angeles–where modern fashions meets Hollywood antique–into a book as attractive to display as it is compelling to read. Pick up a copy here.

Minimal and modern don’t have to mean cold and boring. These sleek spaces kick it up a notch with a punch if color!
Clean lines an neutral furniture are great basics, they allow you to easily add accent colors and change accessories out easily. These rooms prove that sleek can be chic!

Looking for a unique way to add interest to an awkward, boring or feature wall? People have been using plates as wall decor for some time now, so there is no lack of inspiration out there.
Check out this great “how to” on ehow.com complete with step by step instructions.

Looking for more of an eclectic look? Mix and match plates in multiple patterns and colors to achieve that collected “over time” look. Places like Etsy are great to pick up fun pieces here and there. Most cities have local flee markets or antique stores with tons of hidden treasures.

Going modern is also easy. Try mixing up the sizes but keeping the plate color the same. Keeping all of the plates the same pattern and style is also a chic way to bring a pop of color and pattern to a simple space.
