It has been a busy weekend around the Studio. This weekend my #1 goal was to ORGANIZE that overgrown pile of paperwork & magazines from the past few months. In between new project proposals, scheduling contractors and updating my quickbooks I finally found time to pick up that huge pile that we have been stepping over for a while. Although finding time to flip through each of the magazines is always a challenge, putting them away where I can access them easily was the solution I was looking for.
Of course organizing isn’t much fun alone, so miss Ivy decided she would lend a little moral support! We headed to The Container Store and purchased their graphite gray magazine files! Back in the studio…the organization begins.
One of the first piles to tackle:

Mission Accomplished! Ivy apparently wore herself out…looks like it’s nap time:

Now that our
website is updated and up & running, it’s time to unveil the final piece in our new look! We have also reconfigured our logo and it is super fun! Although I loved the lamp logo, I wanted something softer & a bit more chic.
Drum roll please!
Let us know what you think!! We had it created with two background options and a fun starburst accent to use on our stationary.

Wallpaper…wallcovering…Wow
Looking for a simple way to make a statement in your home? Just can’t get excited about paining your space a new color to shake things up? As we have all seen wallpaper is in and it has officially made it’s comeback. This time the millions of options out there can be found from more affordable chic designs at retails like Ballard Designs, Target & Brocade Home. And if you were looking for a more chic “designer” product, there are quite a few places online that will sell to the public. Our local Benjamin Moore paint store has an amazing selection of papers to fit any style!
Not sure hot to implement wallpaper in your space? Take a look at how homeowners and designers are adding that extra “wow” to their spaces.
Fun tip: Look up for inspriration! Adding any bold or simple pattern to your room’s ceiling can bring that extra something to your space.

Maybe being so bold isn’t for you, try a tone on tone pattern with touches of metallic to create a focal point. It will still create that “wow” factor and give your room a focal point. Use it as art for the room too!

What is it with Buddha statues, art and themes in design these days? Well, I believe that people want to have peaceful spaces that are soothing and enjoyable to come home to. I have been seeing Buddha everywhere these days and have even implemented versions of him in a few of my clients spaces. Last summer we overhauled a client’s guest bedroom to have an Asian theme and having Buddha in the space was a must.
The Asian style may not be your ideal choice for a room in your house. And, having a “token” Buddha propped on a side table may not be your idea of accessorizing but you have to admit this chubby guy can bring a smile to your face! Plus, how can you resist rubbing the belly!!
