I recently came across these fabulous pillows on Inhabit’s website. I love the fact that they are made from 100% sustainable recycled polyester. The pillows are handprinted and handmade in the USA with environmentally-friendly inks with no chemical waste or disposal generated. And, all paper waste from this process is repurposed as shredded packing material. Product is recyclable at the end of its life-cycle.

Maybe you can’t afford an original or even a reproduction, but these pillows are the perfect way to incorporate any classic chairs into your home.  I love the classic chairs can be mixed with a multitude of styles in design. It really proves how a  classic chair can bring that extra something to a space.

I'm Back!!

We just returned from our two week vacation in Colorado!  We had a blast and I am in love with the mountains in the summer. All of the fresh air, wildflowers and cool mornings do something special to your soul. Most of our time was spent not even worrying about what time it was. It took me a few days to wind down and get work off of my mind but I finally relaxed. IMG_5818

We fished, hiked, cooked out and tried to visit as many small towns as possible. The dogs had a blast running around and jumping in and out of the freezing cold rivers. Adjusting to city life again has been a bummer, there is something special about not having a care in the world, seeing the entire creation of stars in the sky and feeling so tiny among the amazing creations of God.  Ok, I have to admit that I REALLY MISSED STARBUCKS!!

I am working on a few new post for the blog, home away from home projects and am in the process of updating the website…YAY!! Here are a few pics from the trip…..enjoy.

Home Away From Home – Chic Master Retreat

Jill & Blake wrote to us for help with there STUNNING master bedroom. They were married earlier this year, just purchased their first home together and are trying to agree on how to decorate their master bedroom. Here is there letter:

Hi Abbe,

We just love your website, design style and the chic touch you add to all of your rooms. We can’t afford to have a designer at the moment but are in serious need of help. We were hoping your home away from home service would finally lead us in the right direction, especially where our master bedroom is concerned! The bedroom is large and we have no idea how to make it feel cozy. We only have our king mattress and box spring (on the floor) and our flat screen and are now ready to purchase the furniture and accessories we need.  We had the hardwood floors re-finished to a warm chocolate walnut color, added crown moulding and scraped the popcorn off the ceiling for a more updated look.

I would say our style is a refined, eclectic & chic feel. We love the fresh feel that white furniture has and are open to  anything things that will create the perfect mix of feminine and masculine.  We have decided on a grey/taupe/soft yellow/white color palette and would love to have an upholstered headboard. I would love to have the walls painted and am a big fan of the grey/khaki color, I think it looks great with white furniture. There is a bay window in the room and I have always wanted to have a chaise with lots of pillows where I could curl up and read or watch television. My husband and I are open to any ideas you have and are excited to see what you come up with.

Looking forward to seeing your ideas!

Thanks,

Jill & Blake
