Yesterday I stopped by the new Ornare showroom in the Dallas Design District to take a peek at their collection of closets, kitchens, baths, home and office pieces. Ornare hails from Brazil, where the brand is highly revered for its well designed and quality products with tons of gorgeous details to choose from. Here is a little look at the new showroom and a few of my favorites.

From the moment you walk into the showroom, you are greeted by the fabulous sleek and modern kitchen. I immediately became obsess with the wood plank wall and oversized butcher block cutting board across the front island. Need storage? My goodness, there are options that make moving around the kitchen super easy and help to keep you organized.

Maybe you are thinking about updating your bathrooms. I am so obsessed with the Manhattan line…I mean obsessed! The black lacquered beauty in the Dallas showroom is a show stopper and on my “to-do” list for my next dream house. Customizable finish, countertop and mirrors help to create a look that screams penthouse!

Details always pull everything together and this showroom is a detail candy land for sure. Mother of pearl, bone, top stitched leather, suede lining, monogramed door pulls and the list goes on and on. These elements give Ornare it’s high style and exquisite design that is sure to sweep Dallas of their feet! It is a MUST SEE if you are in the Dallas Design District and if you are in the market for a start to finish custom kitchen, closet, entertainment are or bathroom.

Oversized bone pull on a closet door

Top stitched croc leather panels with valet

One of my favorites, the oversized pull for closet doors.

Monogramed door pulls…so fancy!

The vanity legs were even detailed, such a sophisticated touch.

Individual metal pieces make up this built-in trivet to protect the solid surface countertop.

And who doesn’t love a full length mirror next to a full length hat rack??

Yes, I watch a Soap Opera….and Yes…I really am posting about it today. The Young & The Restless has been part of my dvr scheduled recordings since that was available and before that, I used my my VCR to record the show everyday. I would like to blame my mother for getting me hooked on this show. Back in the 80′s I would come home from school and sit down to do my homework at our kitchen table. My mother would turn on the Young & The Restless and it became part of my afternoon each day from that point on.
As an interior designer, I am always noticing details on my favorite T.V. shows, but my soap has always been pretty bad. I mean seriously, these people are supposto be wealthy and sophisticated but their homes have always been awful! I will spare you the icky images!
But, this year The Young and The Restless has kicked it up a bit, probably because they are celebrating 40 years on the air. The dapper Martyn Lawrence Bullard stopped by to help Sharon update The Ranch Mansion…too bad she was divorced soon after and kicked out before he was able to work his magic…UGH!!! I was really hoping to see him “million dollar decorator” up that house!! This was the second time that MLB came in to help Sharon, he was also asked to update another mansion…from another marriage that she had…shocker!

And if that wasn’t exciting enough….Billy & Victoria recently painted their living room and updated their furniture. I was excited when I noticed Duralee’s Aqua print from their Westbury Collection! I have been working on a Lake House project and we are using this fabric on a few accent pillows too! So, I had to snap a pic and share it with you guys!

Here is a peek of the fabric from our Lake House project! Soothing colors and modern graphics, looks like Y&R is stepping it up and I can’t wait to see what else they decide to update on the set!

Tomorrow is the big day for Dallas’ latest furniture showroom opening! Adriana Hoyos is the latest addition to the Dallas Design District and tomorrow they finally open their doors. I have been working with their showroom manager, Baron Farah on the new DTV set and have fallen in love with their pieces…and Baron isn’t so bad either! Boys knows his stuff and is a blast to work with!
Don’t let their location in the Design District run you off, they are also open to the public! I love that they even have an in stock and ready to ship program so if you are looking for a killer sofa, dining table or something new for your bedroom you can snag it now! Although they call their pieces “high end”, their prices are affordable and their finish options are GORGEOUS!!!! I have my eye on a few pieces…

As a furniture designer, Adriana Hoyos has created collections inspired by her native Latin America –dark and vibrant –colored woods, earthy tones and exotic materials- along with an international taste for elegance and simplicity of clean lines. The cornerstone of her inspiration is this melding of global textures and arts. Hoyos’ work has caught the attention of the international press and has been featured in media such as Architectural Digest, Florida Design, Interior Design, Ocean Drive, Hola Decoracion, CNN Espanol and numerous periodicals in the US, Latin America and Europe.
Hospitality design has become a specialty delivering interiors for international hoteliers such as TRUMP, Starwood, Swissotel, Marriott and Hilton.

The Grafito chair is one of my favorite pieces and makes the perfect lounge chair! I love how the design on the back incorporates the Adriana Hoyos logo too…so sleek and a little sneaky!

We used the Coco rectangular coffee table in Mink, two of the Chocolate end tables in Champagne and the Carmelo Console table in Mink on The DTV set. We love the pieces so much that we went back for the Cafe Sofa in a white lacquer to use in the opening for D The Broadcast!

One of my favorite vacation spots is the snow covered mountains in Colorado. I’m not a huge fan of skiing (I’m actually horrible at it) or being cold; but I love the simplicity of the small towns, watching the snow fall and of course the gorgeous interiors. I try to grab a few of the local real estate and design magazines and bring them back to the hotel. I love poring over them and taking in all of the rustic details, wide open windows and of course seeing the views that each home boasts. Views sell in the mountains for sure and I love seeing how they bring the outside in to many of the stunning homes.
We were not able to visit the Colorado mountains this winter, but we definitely going to plan a trip to visit this summer! Here are a few of my favorite Colorado spaces. I personally prefer more of the modern rustic feel with updated appliances and sleek lines while still staying true to the mountain environment! So for now, my stacks of magazines will have to wait until we can check this one off the bucket list! Here are a few of my favorite inspiration images. Who knows, maybe someday soon we can put them to use!

If you haven’t heard of Kelly Wearstler, sit back and prepare to have your world rocked.
From books and blog to fabrics, fashion and killer interiors – Kelly is the ultimate decorista-fashionista. Everything she does is utterly fabulous: I have used her fabrics and home accessories for a ton of projects and have a few pieces from her jewelry and clothing line. Her blog is overflowing with inspiration, and gives you a behind-the-scenes look at how she works and becomes inspired. I am obsessed with her fashion and furniture; I would let her to take over my home and my wardrobe in a heartbeat! (We’ll just throw in some antlers and a great bar to get my husband on board.)
Here’s Kelly wearing a skirt made from her own fabric..seriously, could she be any more pulled together?

How gorgeous is this?! I’m not much of a drinker, but I could seriously live in this lounge. It’s glamorous but also has a funky, retro feel.

Her fabric lines from Lee Jofa and Schumacher are a mix of classic patterns, rich textural solids and total luxury.

Love the colors, textures and finishes in this room!

The Rug Company collection from Kelly Wearstler has beautiful basics as well as off the wall color. I have used a few of the rugs from her collections…there are no words..they just complete the space.

Details, details, details! Here pieces are art and the composition is always unique and visually interesting!

Totally enamored with this color palette and all the chic, modern touches.

Those shoes! Those walls! That carpet! My eyes go wide every single time I look at this staircase.

Her latest book and an image of her inspiration project trays! I was totally inspired so I started using acrylic trays when working on the design development phase of a project. It’s the little things!

I think it’s safe to say that most girls dream about having a huge walk-in closet. Beautifully organized shelves to display all of our shoes, a cozy chair or ottoman to sit on while we are getting dressed and of course a fabulous chandelier to top it all off! I love that fashion and interiors come together so easily. There are Decoristas and Fashionistas out there that blend the two together seamlessly. They can bring us to our knees swooning over chic baubles and glitzy accessories, so I thought it was time to channel them both on today’s Get The Look!!!

It’s no secret that I’m digging animal accents for 2013 (just check out the DHome and Shoebox Decor articles) and I am so excited to finally share these custom Belgian Nubby Linen pillows with the embroidered rams head.
First, a little background info about this project. The concept was directly inspired by the client’s zodiac sign, aries. She has a few special pieces of jewelry and accessories that she’s collected over the years. We though it would be fun to incorporate this into the space, but didn’t want it to scream “zodiac sign.”

The custom-made pillows from Ankasa used a special embroidery technique to create the stunning 3D effect. These are the initial sketches of the concept for the pillows. Pictured below is the strike off that we approved for the final design.

And here’s the finished product: a chic interpretation of the aries sign. I love how this represents something near and dear to the client’s heart and creates a one-of-a-kind animal accent (one of my very favorite trends for 2013).

Sachin and Babi have been one of the most sought-after design teams for over a decade. I have been a huge fan of their clothing and have recently become an even bigger fan of their home line ANK Embroideries, where they design and manufacture designer and couture embroideries, and Ankasa, their luxury home furnishings brand.
Their elaborate textiles and embroideries have since been used by the industry’s most esteemed fashion houses, including Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Yves Saint Laurent and Nina Ricci. And now, those gorgeous textiles can be found in stunning pillows, bedding, tote bags and now a fabric line for Beacon Hill.

I love the transition they have made from fashion to fabrics! Gorgeous detail is what sets this line part and we are so excited to have some of Ankasa’s pieces at Shop Ten 25! I love seeing their clothing influence their home collection, its about time we didn’t have to wait to have high fashion in our closet and in our living room at the same time!
