Our guest room is used more in the summer time than any other time of the year. Fresh white sheets, happy art and small bottles of toiletries are must haves when setting up the guest room for visitors. Hopefully today’s GET THE LOOK will inspire you to clean all of that junk out of the guest room and freshen the space up for visitors. Move things around or make a trip to one of your local discount stores to grab updated accessories and items that will help you guest feel more comfortable during their stay! I love the look of this room. It’s simple, but with the addition of a few bold graphic pieces it becomes fun and nice place for guests to hang out.

I always work best in simple spaces, I find that it allows me to sort through the colors, patterns and textures on multiple projects with easy. every time I try to bring too many objects into the Studio, I find myself moving them around and eventually out of the space. Today’s Get The Look is inspired by my dream to one day have a space that I can fill full of things I love without being distracted from the task of creating. Although I’m not sure how well I would survive without my large conference table sized desk, I need a place to sort thorough it all!
So for now, I will admire this fabulous room. And if I every have time, I may rearrange my studio just to see if I can mix it up a bit!!

We love going all out glam around here so it was only fitting that we create a fun “how-to” video to show you how!
Always start with the basics and build on them with pattern, color and texture. We layered the custom blush silk velvet bed with crisp white Soprano bedding from Peacock Alley and began to pull the room together from there. Large scale mirrored night stands were dressed with these gorgeous amethyst lamps and pops of pink and lavender to tie the room together. My favorite part of the room? Of course the stunning velvet black and white striped custom love seat to anchor the bed! We kept the pillows to a minimum by using a simple purple textural pattern and a tiny bit of metallic on the lumbar pillow and main bed pillows.
A little tip about going bold: Select the one or two pieces that make a statement in the room. We used the headboard and love seat here. Add art, pillows and accessories to pull the color into the space. Remember that not everything you bring into the room has to be so dramatic. We kept the bedding, draperies and artwork simple and subtle to compliment the color in the room.

We also love sharing a good BEFORE and AFTER. Here is the room before we began to bring in the main pieces…
And AFTER. Using black and white to anchor the room, all of the bold colors and fabric are balanced and can now be the focal point of the room.
Styling bookshelves can be easy if you use pieces you love and stick with a plant. Obviously, filling the shelves with colorful and stylish books is my favorite way to start the process. You don’t have to go overboard with them, just use them in stacks of three and add a colorful accessory on top or lead a great pieces of art behind them to pull the grouping together.
Pulling from pieces you already have around the house is a great place to start too. Accessories can take on a new look if you just put them in a new grouping sometimes. Add in things you love and don’t be afraid to splurge on a few statement pieces that help to give the overall look the wow factor that you are after! Today’s Get The Look pulls together great books, colorful art and unique accessories, we hope it inspires you to spend a little time updating your shelving!!
