Now that fall has arrived and the warmer summer temperatures are beginning to cool down a bit, it is time to start thinking about updating your home for the new season! Making small changes throughout your home without completely redecorating can be easily accomplished. Peacock Alley has been my go-to resources for linens and bedding when working with our design clients. So when they asked me to show of our master bedroom fall updates using their new Braga collection, I jumped at the chance!!!
You can see all of at the fabulous BEFORE & AFTER details on the Peacock Alley blog today. And if you are looking for something easy that can transition you into fall easily, the Braga collection is perfect!! All of the pieces that we used in our fall updates are linked on the post and you can even snag Shop Ten 25′s new Glamazon Lamp too!!!
BEFORE: Our summer bedding is bright and light weight. I love that we can easily change out a few pieces to warm up the space and create a few more layers for the chilly fall temps!
AFTER: I love the addition of the Braga collection pieces for fall. The king shams and king blanket bring in a casual look and the linen with frayed edges is beyond fabulous!!! The gorgeous agate Glamazon lamps, a few new throw pillows and that gorgeous turquoise mohair throw blanket really bring in the cozy! Don’t cha think?
The Alpha Delta Pi Sorority House at The University of North Texas was in serious need of an update. And, of course we are super excited to see the transformation featured on Seventeen.Com this week!!
When the sorority contacted me to help with their remodel, I knew this was a project that I had to consider. After doing a walk through and going through the to-do list, I knew it was going to be a fit. Sorority house are typically designed with a more traditional color palette and lots dark heavy furniture to accommodate all of the members. My sorority house in college was the same, a mix of random pieces that didn’t fit the space properly. This house was no different when we started the design plan and the oversized and worn out furniture really needed an updated.
The girls wanted a modern and bright color palette that worked with the official azure blue and white colors of the sorority. The entry was dark and didn’t have any personality. We painted all of the trim a soft white and used an updated greige paint color to brighten up the dark space. Clarke & Clarke Augustus wallpaper in azure blu perfectly mixes the traditional trellis pattern with a modern feel that the girls were going for.

FORMAL DINING ROOM / KITCHEN BEFORE
The kitchen was the biggest update in the house. We removed the wall that separated the formal dining room and the kitchen to allow for larger groups and events. We decided to incorporate a large center island with built in storage and plenty of seating for them to entertain as well as gather for meals during the day. New pantry lockers provide each of the girls that live in the house a place to store groceries. Updated appliances, new built in china cabinets and sleek cornice boards were also elements that helped to pull the large space together.

MAIN LOUNGE AREA BEFORE
In the main lounge area, we needed to incorporate plenty of seating in the main lounge area as well as storage and pieces that could be easily moved around to accommodate different groups. We started with a completely new floor plan for the room by relocating the existing TV from the corner to the side wall. This allowed us to open up the room and bring in a seating arrangement that allowed the ladies to conduct meetings, hang out or host events. Accent chairs, x benches and an ottoman coffee table brings in plenty of extra seating and allows for great conversation with larger groups. All of the finishes and fabrics are durable and with the azure blue front and center, the girls can have pride in their sorority with out going overboard on the sorority’s symbols and colors.

This month, we are sharing another one of our Designer Picks from Shop Ten 25 and the timing is perfect because it is a big month for them! Dwell With Dignity is a Dallas-based non-profit dedicated to helping families escape poverty and homelessness through design, one household at a time. And we are so thrilled to have them featured in our Shop.
Not only are we sharing their Designer Picks for The Shop today, but we are excited that their Fall 2014 Thrift Studio is up and running here in Dallas!!
Thrift Studio is a not-like-any-other-thrift-store THRIFT STORE. Kicking off with our preview party on October 9th, Thrift Studio is a bi-annual 30 day pop-up shop created to provide financial viability and fundraising for Dwell with Dignity through selling donated furniture, housewares, accessories and high end designer finds to the public. All proceeds benefit the future work, growth, organization and structure of Dwell with Dignity.
Each Thrift Studio has a cast of fabulous designers who design and install vignettes using items from our warehouse as well as items they have donated from their own inventory or through their industry connections. All items are for sale to allow Dwell with Dignity to help families escape poverty & homelessness. If you are in Dallas, you can grab tickets HERE.
You can shop Dwell With Dignity’s Designer Picks HERE and check out their Q&A in our Fall lookbook too!
So excited to be featured as a tastemaker on Style Bistro this week!!! I was able to share a few little things about me and a little something from Dallas Esthetician Renee Rouleau that I can’t live without!! Renee’s product line is beyond amazing and keeps my skin in check while working long hours!
It’s here!!! The 2014 Fall lookbook for Shop Ten 25 is live! We have pulled together a handful of fabulous tips, inspiration and included a few of our vendors and favorite designers to help us get your home ready for fall. When I started Shop Ten 25 in 2008 with a $100 e-commerce template, I had no idea that it would take off and become a huge part of my life. We are still a small exclusively online boutique, and I love that I am able to fill The Shop with pieces that I love and would actually use in my own home.
We hope you enjoy the lookbook, and we look forward to bringing you more inspiration and design tips as the seasons change! I have to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our amazing vendors that keep us inspired and of course to all of the designers out there that work with us to bring great style to their own clients.
And now….it’s time to show it off!!!
We are putting the finishing touches on Shop Ten 25′s Fall 2014 Look Book today!!! We are so excited to launch our first online look book and hope that we will inspire you to feel fabulous at home. We will be sharing our picks, showing off a few of our vendors and of course bringing in tons of tips and tricks for making your home ready for Fall!!!
You can see more details on what’s inside!!! The Look Book launches on Wednesday October 1st!!!
Although I obsess with all things interiors most of the time, fashion has always been a big inspiration for me when designing for our clients. Color, pattern & texture are present in both and wearing a trend or living with it go hand in hand. Agates, metal stud detailing, butterflies and abstract prints are all over the runways right now, so we paired the looks with a few pieces from Shop Ten 25. Now who says your home can’t be fabulous and fashionable?
I love being surrounded by beautiful art and accessories in my bathroom. And, since I don’t share a bathroom with my husband (pretty sure that was the best decision we have made) I am able to bring in the girly pieces that I love. Here are a few tips for creating a bathroom or vanity space that will look like a million bucks and make getting ready something to look forward to.
#1-Adding a tray on the counter keeps my perfume bottles and other small skincare containers organized
#2-Pretty acrylic containers store my cotton balls, q-tips and other items that I use on a daily basis.
#3-Bathrooms are a bit more challenging to bring color into, but adding a smaller scale lamp and framed art pieces will always do the trick.
#4-And my favorite way to create a customized look, change out that standard mirror for something more decorative on the wall.
