Setting up a comfortable and cozy guest bedroom is always a nice touch for visitors. HGTV pulled together a few of their favorite guest rooms along with tips on how to make your guests feel at home. Function, a great set of sheets and a little something special like a “gift” on the pillow all help to pull a great guest room together. You can see more tips and tricks HERE…and don’t forget to check out our bold guest room on slide 10!
While building a solid design foundation is important to designer Abbe Fenimore, she learned her best guest etiquette from her grandmother. “I love leaving small gifts on the bed for each guest,” she says. “It’s a personal touch that lets them know you are glad they are there! Growing up, my grandmother always left something fun for us on our pillows when we visited. I couldn’t wait to run back to the room to see what it was!”
I always work best in simple spaces, I find that it allows me to sort through the colors, patterns and textures on multiple projects with easy. every time I try to bring too many objects into the Studio, I find myself moving them around and eventually out of the space. Today’s Get The Look is inspired by my dream to one day have a space that I can fill full of things I love without being distracted from the task of creating. Although I’m not sure how well I would survive without my large conference table sized desk, I need a place to sort thorough it all!
So for now, I will admire this fabulous room. And if I every have time, I may rearrange my studio just to see if I can mix it up a bit!!

Metallic cow hide rugs are one of our biggest sellers in The Shop. We have two of them in our own home, and love how durable they are while still brining in a bit of glam to the space. We spotted this small dining room on Pinterest and loved how the cowhide rug helped to pull all of the modern piece together! You can find a few of our favorite metallic cow hide rugs HERE.

Other than pillows, art has become one of my favorite items to select for our design projects! Art can make a fabulous focal point in a room with bold pattern & color, or it can be a simplistic pieces that pulls the overall look together too. I love the versitility that it can bring to a space and when selecting the right piece for a client, there are so many factors to consider.
I stumbled across Andrea Pramuk on Pinterest a few weeks ago and knew that her pieces were perfect for the dining room of this bachelor pad! Working with local artists is something I love to do and being able to support the Texas art community is important to me as a designer. Andrea is based out of Austin, TX and her work is beyond gorgeous!! She mixes watercolor, oil, alcohol inks and cold wax to create her pieces, I love the depth and softness that she creates!
Scale, color, texture and pattern are the main points to consider when selecting art. Since my projects tend to be layered with bold color and texture, the right piece of art is always the one thing that I obsess over. We recently began work on an Uptown Dallas bachelor pad and our client was immediately drawn to the pieces we selected for his space. Warm tonal colors keep the rooms sophisticated, while the playful watercolor patterns bring in a casual feel to avoid being a bit stuffy! Most of the bachelors that I work with do not gravitate toward a ton of bold color and pattern, so layering the space with the right piece of art is always the best approach.
We needed two large scale pieces to really make an impact in the open dining room, and “Currents” was our favorite by far. Andrea was able to help us create the custom sizes we needed, being able to mirror the pieces made the overall look a bit more interesting while still being clean and tasteful!
Here are a few of my favorite pieces from Andrea’s collection. If you are in the market for something unique and need to work with custom sizing, her selection is huge! From soft blush pinks and spring pastels to bold and deep blues and plums, there is sure to be something that catches your eye!
I am flattered and really excited when FD Luxe included me on their “Ones To Watch” Instagram accounts of Dallas designers this week! Instagram is one of my favorite social media outlets so being included in a group with the amazing Michelle Nussbaumer, Jan Showers, Gonzolo Bueno, John Bobbitt and Joshua Rice is a huge honor!!!

So excited to see one of our boutique projects featured on HGTV.COM today!!! Aqua, orange and plenty of pink helped us pull the office and lounge space of this Texas clothing boutique together. Our favorite piece? The oversized watercolor art from Black Crow Studios, it was the jumping off piece for the room!
